Digenean trematodes in Hungarian freshwater aquacultures

چکیده

Occurrence of metacercariae potentially zoonotic trematodes (Platyhelminthes: Digenea) in the musculature common carp (Cyprinus carpio L. 1758) was monitored four Hungarian aquacultures. Four geographically distinct fish farms (located Northwestern, Southwestern, Northeastern and Southeastern parts Hungary) were selected for investigation. From each farm, a total 258 one-summer-old fingerlings sampled examined years 2016 2017. In addition, 2017, we 60 market size specimens (30 two-summers 30 three-summers) from most infected aquaculture part Hungary. The euthanized decapitated whereafter their (fillets) digested pepsin solution to isolate tissue morphological molecular analyses (PCR sequencing ITS region) performed. Opisthorchiid not recovered but one numerous detected carp. They identified as cyathocotylid based on characteristics by region. infection levels proved be remarkably different among farms. Carps farm large numbers metacercariae, while 8 Posthodiplostomum cuticola Northwestern aquaculture. other two (Southwestern Southeastern) no recorded. is located close protected natural wetland habitat populated rich fauna aquatic birds (potential final hosts) snails (first intermediate host) which may create higher risk neighbouring

Digenean trematodes from six species of birds (Passeriformes, Piciformes and Strigiformes) from north-western Poland

Ten species of digeneans were found in a survey of six species of terrestrial birds associated with woodland and urban habitats of north-western Poland carried out in 2006–2009: Leucochloridium paradoxum Carus, 1835 (Leucochloridiidae) from the Cyanistes caeruleus (L.) and the Parus major L. (Paridae); Leuchochloridium perturbatum Pojmańska, 1968 (Leucochloridiidae) from the Turdus merula L., (...

Progenesis in digenean trematodes: a taxonomic and synthetic overview of species reproducing in their second intermediate hosts.

Precocious egg production, i.e. progenesis, has been documented for a number of species in scattered reports throughout the trematode literature. The last 2 extensive studies on the subject date from Buttner in the early 1950s (in French) and from Tang in the early 1980s (in Chinese). Overall, 43 species were then known for their ability to produce eggs at the metacercarial stage while still in...

Cercariae of Trematodes in Freshwater Snails in Three Climatic Zones in Sri Lanka

Cercariae of trematodes in freshwater snails were studied in 1694 snails collected from rivers and streams in three climatic zones of Sri Lanka during 2005 to 2008. Four snail species; Thiara scabra, T. tuberculata, Paludomous sphearica and Gyraulus saigonensis were collected from nine sites in four districts; Matale, Kandy, Kegalle, and Kurunegala. Snails were allowed to release cercariae unde...

OBJECTIVE To detect the species of larval trematodes (cercariae) in Melanopsis praemorsa snails from 5 different fresh water bodies in Palestine. METHODS A total of 1 880 Melanopsis praemorsa snails were collected from different fresh water bodies in Palestine from October, 2008 to November, 2010. Cercariae in Melanopsis praemorsa snails were obtained by lighting and crushing methods. The beh...
